​Read the requirements below to see if you are eligible to apply to our Housing Trust Fund program.

Requirements

The UFCW Local 1776 and Participating Employers Housing Trust Fund (“Fund”) would like to remind you that eligible participants can apply for grants of up to $5,000 reimbursement for closing costs associated with the purchase or refinancing of a primary residence.

In order to be eligible for the current grant application period, you must:

​

  1. Be actively employed by one of the following current contributing employers:

    • Acme

    • KBA74

    • UFCW Agents and Admin

    • ShopRite Aramingo

    • ShopRite Brown’s Stores

    • ShopRite Colligas Family Markets

    • ShopRite Collins Supermarket

    • ShopRite Knorr

    • ShopRite Morrell Roosevelt (also known as the McMenamin Family ShopRite)

  2. Purchase or refinance a primary residence with a settlement date between January 1 – December 31, 2025

  3. Have an annual adjusted gross income for 2024 that does not exceed 400% of the federal poverty guidelines for the applicant’s family size, as identified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (see our chart on Page 2 of the application below for information on income requirements)

  4. Have the same address on record with the Fund as the address of the newly purchased residence.

Application

To apply for a grant, you must submit the following to the Fund Office for receipt by February 1, 2026:
 

  1. Your completed and signed 2025 Housing Trust Fund Grant Program Application;

  2. Your 2024 Filed Federal Tax Return; AND

  3. A copy of your closing statement (settlement sheet) for the purchase or refinance of your primary residence showing your settlement date between January 1, & December 31, 2025.

Housing Trust Fund

The purpose of the Fund is to provide assistance for home closing costs to the employees of participating employers. All eligible participants may participate in the programs, provided that they meet the objective financial and other uniform and nondiscriminatory criteria that the Fund will establish after consultation with financial and real estate professionals.
